Since its inception in Fall 2009, the Informal Research Group/Rencontres Jeunes Chercheurs has been bringing together novice researchers to share their research with others active in language- and linguistics-related disciplines, in an informal and non-judgemental setting.  The group, currently based out of the bilingual University of Fribourg/Freiburg in Switzerland, currently has over 150 members from 22 different institutions in Europe and elsewhere.  Membership is open to anyone who is interested in language- and linguistics-related research. The discussion list serves as the main means of communication between members and is used to pass on or request information, to announce upcoming events, and for new members to introduce themselves to the group. Communication is in English, French, and German.
